Sai had returned. His footprints now pressed firmly in to the soft dirt in front of the apartment building that was meant to house the kouken. He knew there was trouble. While visiting his sensei in Japan he had intercepted Garret’s transmission to the other kouken members. Not because Garret got sloppy and transmitted it on all frequencies but due to a smile program he placed on the computer that kept him abreast of the situation in New York.
He knew what the problem was the instant he heard it and was pulled up instantly during his haste for forgetting some important lessons, which his sensei seemed to take great delight in pointing out to him. "Be calm with the boy,” he said to him self as he stepped on to the porch. "There is nothing more dangerous then a wounded animal. And a broken heart is the worst wound of all." he whispered
