John burst into the front door stumbling across the hall and to the sofa. Craven was struggling to walk and John was half dragging him. Craven had a high fever and set drops caked his forehead.
John had gone to fetch him from the airport. Craven seemed fine... tired but fine. Then when they got to the Car Craven had collapsed. John had never been so afraid for his friend in his life. Craven was like a brother to him and the rush to get him home had seemed like a blur now.
John dropped Craven onto the sofa and crouched down his head inches from Cravens. "Crave... Mate you'd better be just having a bad jet lag." He said worriedly.
Cravens eyes were half open along with his mouth. His eyes were unfocussed and squinted.
Pyro jumped to his feet and rushed to the hall. "Hey... Who evers in the house get you arses down here now! We have an emergency!!!" He called. He was a bout a minute from losing it completely. He had no idea what to do... He could not take Craven to hospital...
Johns face was well known and he was a mutant after all. It wasn't like Pyro could just take Craven in and they'd treat him...

Jen had been in her room, half asleep when she heard John's voice. The two had a rather nasty fight a few weeks ago, she couldn't remember over what anymore but she knew she was still angry at him over whatever it was. But today was the day Craven came home...It didn't take her long to make that connection. She jumped up from her bed, not bothering with shoes and socks, just the lounge pants and tank top as she ran to the living room. She stopped on the stairs looking over Craven in his state. "My God what happened." She said as she moved to Craven's side.

John followed her into the living room and stopped by the door. "He's Ill... are you blind?" He said angrily. He was ticking closer to eruption as the minutes ticked by. "Just do something! Jen!" He watched his friend crumble and moan in pain. Craven's hands wrapped around his stomach.
"Oh God he has food poisoning. d**n French... They poisoned him." John glanced away from Craven unsure what to do with himself. "s**t..." He swore loudly and slipped back in the lounge grabbing Cravens hand and couching beside Jen. "Crave whats wrong? Mate you need to talk to me...Its John... Come on buddy." He said more getnly.

"I can see that!" She snapped back to him before looking around, not sure what to do either. This was the time she wished she hadn't killed off her mother, so she could call and ask what she was supposed to do. Jen was far from a domestic person. She didn't know at all how to deal with these things.
She moved to the other side of Craven, opposite John and felt his face, searching for a fever. "Craven what's happened." She said softly, worried. Then it hit her...Aspirin...Aspirin was supposed to bring fevers down. She got up and ran to the bathroom searching for the bottle.

John watched her suddenly jump up and prayed that a bolt of inspiration had struck her. His hand slipped over Cravens forehead. "Don't worry... you'll be okay." He said. "God Your shoaked with sweat Crave." He stood up and started to take Cravens leather jacket off.
Craven started to grumbled and tried to pull away. "Craven! Lay still. this is for your own good!" He yelled then his eyes caught somehing coming at the window. John stopped and watched as a black crow headed straight for the closed window.
"No No..." He dropped Cravens arm and rushed to open the window but the crow his the window with a thud then slipped down to the ground "Ouch...God I hope that wasn't Jet." He was about to turn around when he almost fell back at what he saw. A whole black swarm of Birds were heading straight for the window now.
"Woa" He knew this was Craven doing... He stumbled almost falling back to Cravens side. Then Yanked Craven to a sitting position in hopes of waking him up. "Craven! Wake up Now!" He shoke craven his eyes flicking to the birds...

Jen had no idea any of this was happening. In the bathroom she wet a washcloth in as cold water as she could to at least help with the sweat. As it soaked she found the Aspirin. She brought both to the living room, dropping them when she saw the swarm of crows at the window. "My god." She muttered as she stood there in awe. Then John yelled, snapping her back to reality. She picked up the washrag and the Aspirin before rushing to the boys. She shoved the bottle to John as she wiped away the sweat with the cold rag. "What the hell happened to you Craven...." She whispered as she looked over him.

Cravens eyes snapped open and just before the crows hit the window to shatter it they burst into black feathers. His breath was short and raspy and his eyes wild as he glanced between Jen and John then noticed the asprin. He grabbed it from Johns hand and snapped opened the bottle making the contents spill onto the sofa.
He grabbed two and popped then in his mouth swallowing hard. His head darted to the window as he winched in pain. The fever had made his powers react he realised as he saw the black feathers drift around in the wind outside. His head returned to his brotherhood team mates and it was easy to tell that he was in pain.
"I'm fine..." He said quickly not aware of what had happened at all. He sank back onto the couch. "Food poisoning..." He closed his eyes and curled up as much as he could.

Jen watched the display of power...She'd always been attracted to power...She smirked just a bit as she turned her attention back to Craven. She continued to gently move the cold cloth over his face. As he took the aspirin she moved it to the back of his neck. She found the look of him like this to be a terrible sight...then again she'd think the same about any of her team mates. "You want help up to your room?" She asked, planning on volunteering John since they were almost like brothers and all..."If it's just food poisoning then you should feel better by morning right..."

"Mmm... Better in the morning." He toke a moment then sat up shivering slightly. "John to my room." He ordered and held out his arm to John. He managed a smile. "Thanks Jen. Its good to see you by the way." He got to his feet unsteadily. John instantly grabbed his arm and slipped underneath him to help him from the room and up the stairs. Craven gave Jen one last look then concentrated on walking.
"Is it really food poisoning Crave..." John asked uncertainly now that they were traveling down the hall..
"I'm fine. " He patted Johns chest wearily with a weak hand then before they entered his room. He had missed it in all honesty. He was glad to be home again.

Jen smiled at Craven's answer. She had always thought of him as a good friend, one of the few people she liked being nice to...She barely treated John as good as she treated him. She had to laugh at him ordering John about. As the boys made their way to Craven's room she got up from the floor and made her way over to the window, looking over the front yard. Aside from the black feathers everywhere the ground was a sparkling white. The tire swing John made for Amy was up still. She had to admit he did a good job on it...Things seemed to be going back to how they were...And she wasn't sure if she liked that too much.
